Greetings Members and Friends . . .

The DSA Board is gratified to hear from many members who have shown support for our organization in spite of the cancellation of the Chicago conference. We are touched by some of you who are nevertheless going to Chicago this weekend and taking the opportunity for sightseeing and good time.

 As you are aware, the DSA Board will be having its board meeting this week, on Friday and Saturday, September 2 and 3. As our tradition, the meeting is open to the public.

Some of you have expressed interest in attending our meeting while you are in Chicago. We are glad to share our tentative agenda for your information.

 Friday:

  • Gary Meyer presentation on insurance and surety bond
  • Fact finding on the Chicago Conference cancellation, such as:
    • What final action prompted the decision to cancel
    • Issues facing the committee as of now
    • What can the Board do as of now
    • What the Board can do better in order to prevent future occurence
  • Role of DSA and Host
  • Issues for future conferences
Saturday:
  • Unfinished business items on Friday
  • Policies/Guidelines
  • Bylaws
  • Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
  • NAD Conference offer (for 2012)
  • Wrap up

The Board will be meeting at Chicago Marriott Suites O’Hare, 6155 North River Road in Rosemont (near O’Hare airport). You are welcome to stop by during the meeting to observe. However, we are not sure of the size of the meeting room, so it might get crowded.
